Liam Gallagher hints at Oasis reunion

In a surprising Twitter outpouring, Liam Gallagher has called for a truce with brother Noel in a bid to look to reunite Oasis.

Liam, who released his excellent debut solo album ‘As You Were’ toward the end of last year, addressed a potential reformation on his account, saying “I forgive you now let’s get the BIG O back together and stop fucking about”.

Oasis split back in 2009 with rumours of a reunion happening fairly-consistently since.

Following Liam’s tweet, Paddy Power have released their odds on the band’s future reunion plans. The bookie mark their odds of 3/1 that the band releases a single in 2018, and 12/1 that they land the Christmas number one – cutting the odds from 20/1 and 33/1 respectively.

Oasis are also now 16/1 to headline the next Glastonbury festival and 8/1 to announce a 2019 tour – while the odds on the brothers never putting aside their differences and re-forming have drifted from 25/1 to 50/1.

Let’s wait and see Noel’s response before jumping to any [obvious] excitement, eh?!

The Prodigy announce new album; share new song ‘Need Some1’

The Prodigy have announced their first album since 2015’s ‘The Day Is My Enemy’ with their forthcoming project ‘No Tourists’.

Revealed earlier this evening, the record comes with the lead single ‘Need Some1’ which received its world premiere as Annie Mac’s latest ‘Hottest Record’ on BBC Radio 1.

Alongside the song’s unveiling, The Prodigy have also shared the track’s official video, directed by Paco Raterta. In a statement, the group writes, “To us, No Tourists is ultimately about escapism and the want and need to be derailed. Don’t be a tourist—there is always more danger and excitement to be found if you stray from the set path.”

Dropping ‘I Might Need Security’, ‘Wala Cam’, Work Out’ and ’65th & Ingleside’ in the early hours, the tracks come from the studio sessions off Chance’s upcoming project, which is rumoured to hear production credits from Kanye West.

Following the release of his self-titled acclaimed debut earlier in the year, Everything Is Recorded has announced a further six-track EP, alongside the project’s lead single Carry Me’.

Featuring the vocal talents of Obongjayar, the enigmatic Nigerian-born, UK-based newcomer who previously collaborated with the XL Records-boss for ‘She Said’, Carry Me comes ahead of the vinyl-only 8AM EP which features further tie-ups including the likes of Infinite Coles, Sampha and Ibeyi.

Hear The 1975’s new single ‘Love It If We Made It’

The 1975 have released their new single ‘Love It If We Made It’, the second track from their upcoming album ‘A Brief Enquiry Into Online Relationships’.

Set to follow on from May’s ‘Give Yourself A Try‘, ‘Love It If We Made It’ received its world premiere as Zane Lowe’s latest ‘World Record’ on Apple’s Beats 1 – the track itself hears the group pay tribute to Lil Peep who passed away last November (with lyrics reading “Rest in peace Lil Peep/ The poetry is in the streets/ Jesus saves us!/ Modernity has failed us.”)

‘A Brief Enquiry Into Online Relationships’, which is scheduled for a release this October, comes as part of The 1975’s new era, dubbed ‘Music For Cars’. The record will then be followed by a further project, ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’, set to drop in May 2019.

Ross From Friends will release his debut album ‘Family Portrait’, and has celebrated by sharing the project’s latest single ‘Pale Blue Dot’.

Released alongside the track’s official video, the visual is an ode to the producer’s family, and rave-fuelled life in the 90s. The story goes as follows…

In 1990, when Felix (aka Ross From Friends) was just a twinkle in his father’s eye, his dad – having built up a sound system in the 1980s while playing at various squat parties around London (including the then derelict Roundhouse) – decided that he wanted to get out of the capital and see some of Europe. He got his hands on a bus and started putting word out through a network of like-minded friends and acquaintances. At the time just a friend of a friend, the trip caught the attention of Felix’s (future) mum, who offered to document the whole thing in return for a seat, and in 1990 they loaded up the sound system and hit the road. They travelled through France, Belgium, West and East Germany (though returning through a unified one) and beyond, setting up in towns to share their passion for the sounds of hi-NRG dance, Italo disco and proto-Techno through spontaneous parties in whatever venue they could find.
