Billie Eilish has released her stellar new single ‘you should see me in a crown’, a compellingly dark-and-moody gem of a song that continues to affirm the young artist as one of the most consistently-prolific and exciting talents around.

Produced by her lifetime collaborator, tour mate and big brother Finneas O’Connell and written by 16-year-old Eilish, ‘you should see me in a crown’ is the first glimpse of new material to come from the burgeoning artist since the release of her acclaimed collaboration ‘Lovely’ with Khalid, following her astounding debut EP ‘dont smile at me’.

Shannon Saunders has returned after a long hiatus, rebranding herself as iiola, and bouncing back with the enchanting ‘Sickly Sweet’.

Co-produced by Toby Scott and Paul Harris, the track marks Saunders’ second single from her upcoming debut EP ‘Chrysalis’, out in September, whilst today the singer gives ‘Sickly Sweet’ an added boost by revealing the cut’s official visual.

Florence & The Machine, Lily Allen and Novelist among Mercury 2018 nominees

Florence + the Machine’s ‘High As Hope’ joins Lily Allen’s ‘No Shame’ alongside 10 further albums to make up the final shortlist for 2018’s Mercury Music Prize.

Revealed by BBC Music’s Huw Stephens earlier today, this year’s nominees also include Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ alongside ‘Novelist Guy’ by Novelist. Jorja Smith’s debut album ‘Lost & Found’ also received a nod on the shortlist too.

Check the final 12 nominees below; the 2018 Awards Show will take place on Thursday 20 September at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith.

Ahead of next month’s release of his new album ‘Negro Swan’, Bloody Orange, aka Dev Hynes has announces his new single ‘Charcoal Baby’.

Unveiled alongside a split-screen video courtesy of director Crack Stevens, the track comes ahead of the project which Hynes scribes as “an exploration into my own and many types of black depression, an honest look at the corners of black existence, and the ongoing anxieties of queer/people of color.”

Chance The Rapper to headline 1Xtra Live

Chance The Rapper has been confirmed to headline this year’s 1Xtra Live, the BBC station has revealed.

Announcing the full bill earlier today, Chance will join names including the likes of Mr. Eazi, Chip, Jorja Smith and Pusha T as 1Xtra Live hits London’s O2 Arena in September. The reveal of Chance on the line-up follows his recent release of four new songs by the US rapper – fans are currently anticipating more news on his eagerly awaited forthcoming studio album.

Tickets for 1Xtra Live will start from £18 when they go onsale next Monday, 30th July. Check the full line-up here.

Hear RL Grime connect with Miguel & Julia Michaels for ‘Light Me Up’

RL Grime has reconnected with Miguel following last year’s ‘Stay For It’, this time also enlisting Julia Michaels for their new collaboration ‘Light Me Up’.

Initially starting life as a Jack Ü demo (which you can hear underneath), the track was given a new lease of life upon a chance playing from Diplo. Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple’s Beats 1, Grime said “It was a pretty old demo that [Diplo] played me, and I just loved the vibe of it and decided to build it out and have Miguel and Julia recut their vocals, so was in with them.”

Hear Kaytranada jump on the remix of Anderson .Paak’s ‘Bubblin’

A fortnight on from Busta Rhymes sharing his own remix of the song, Kaytranada comes through another fresh edit of Anderson .Paak’s ‘Bubblin’,

Somehow finding its way onto YouTube, Kaytranada’s version of the track has not previously been given a definitive official release date, so seems that it’s one for the leakers (in fact, the song’s already been removed countless times from Soundcloud).

The original of ‘Bubblin’ is set to appear on .Paak’s forthcoming album ‘Oxnard Ventura’, set to drop later this year. Dr Dre has also confirmed his own input into the record, which marks Anderson’s first release since signing to Aftermath.

Jungle announce new album ‘For Ever’

Funk collective Jungle have finally announced details of their long-awaited second studio album, ‘For Ever’.

The project, which has been three years in the making, follows on from the group’s acclaimed self-titled debut record which saw singles including ‘Time’ and ‘Busy Earnin’, alongside multiple worldwide runs of sold-out shows.

‘For Ever’, which will be released on 14th September, has already been preceded by new songs ‘Happy Man‘ and ‘House In LA’ – last week the group also confirmed more music would follow over the coming weeks, with the album’s third single ‘Heavy, California’ set to be premiered on 26th July.
