Hannah Wants announces new Etiquette label

Hannah Wants has announced the next stage in her underground takeover, revealing her brand new Etiquette imprint.

Set to launch later in the autumn, the label will feature new music from Hannah herself, alongside releases from a carefully-curated crew of both established and up-and-coming artists. According to the press release, the music policy under Etiquette will focus purely on house and bass, and will launch with Hannah’s on release ‘Close To You’ next month.

Of the news, the DJ/producer says “Running a record label is something I always wanted to achieve, but I’m a big believer in things rolling out at the right time. Now feels like the right time. Etiquette will not only be a platform for me to release what I believe to be my strongest music to date, it will also champion both up and coming producers as well as already established names in the game.”

Austin Ato has shared the groovy ‘Ella’, the first song from his upcoming double A-sider.

Released via UK imprint Delusions of Grandeur, the track harks back to elements of Chicago House supported by a head-nodding, alt-disco electronica backtrack. In the same way Ato’s ‘Dreams‘ rocked post-3am clubbing back in 2015, ‘Ella’ delivers something completely vibey for midnight dancefloors.

The 1975 announce UK & Ireland 2019 tour

The 1975 have announced details of their 2019 UK & Ireland tour.

Confirmed with special guests Pale Waves and No Rome, the band will kick off on 9th January at Belfast’s SSE Arena. They will then travel across the country throughout the rest of the month, stopping in Glasgow, Cardiff, Brighton, Exeter, Manchester and Birmingham, before concluding in Sheffield on 25th January. They will also return to the O2 Arena in London on 18th January.

**UPDATE: Due to overwhelming demand, The 1975 will play a second London O2 Arena show on 19th January**

Kanye West teases ‘Watch The Throne’ sequel

Kanye West has confirmed a sequel to 2011’s ‘Watch The Throne’, his collaborative project with Jay Z, is officially on the cards.

Announcing “throne2 coming soon” on his official Twitter account, it seems the public feud between Kanye and Jay has now settled, with West doing an about-turn from his 2016 comments where he stated “there will never be a Watch the Throne 2”.

The original ‘Watch The Throne’ unexpectedly returned to Spotify last month after almost a year’s absence; a release date for the sequel is yet to be revealed.

Chris Brown has followed on from his recent Sage The Gemini and Fat Joe collaborations, branching out on his own accord with his new song ‘All The Time’.

Produced by Hitmaka, the song hears Brown back to his crooning R&B self, though eagle-eyed fans will notice the similarities to the same song on Ty Dolla $ign’s 2017 LP, ‘Beach House 3’.

Mac Miller’s family and label pay tribute following the star’s death

Mac Miller’s family, alongside his label, have spoken out regarding the rapper’s shock death yesterday.

In a statement, Warner Bros. Records said: “All of us at Warner Bros. Records are deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic news of Mac Miller’s untimely passing,” It reads. “Mac was a hugely gifted and inspiring artist, with a pioneering spirit and sense of humor that touched everyone he met. Mac’s death is a devastating loss and cuts short a life of talent and huge potential, where the possibilities felt limitless. We join all of his fans across the globe in extending our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.”

Meanwhile, his family thanked fans in a public statement to Rolling Stone:

“Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26. He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. Thank you for your prayers. Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as to the cause of his death at this time.”

The 26 year-old singer’s death instantly sent shockwaves throughout the industry, with many artists voicing their devastation on Twitter. The likes of Chance The Rapper, Diplo, Post Malone and J.Cole all reached out to their followers to express their heartbreak.

It is believed that Miller passed away from a drug overdose, with paramedics called to his California home just before midday on Friday. He was expected to hit the road alongside Thundercat next month in support of his new album ‘Swimming’, which was released last month.

Mac Miller has reportedly died of an apparent drug overdose – he was 26 years old.

According to TMZ, Miller was found at his home around midday (local time); he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mac has previously had trouble with substance abuse; he was arrested for being drunk under the influence earlier in the year following his public break-up with Ariana Grande. His fifth album, the more-biographical ‘SWIMMING’ was released just last month.

Mac’s friends are seemingly confirming the news online, with many tweeting their sadness, shock and memories.
