0

British electropop artist Frankmusik has announced his comeback to the airwaves with new EP ‘Far From Over’.

The artist, whose first studio album ‘Complete Me’ went Top 20 in 2009, has been living it up in LA working on his developed sound, however is now back in the UK readying the release of some new songs.

Mooted as the frontrunner in BBC’s ‘Sound of 2009’ poll, Frankmusik’s blend of synths and electro have made him a household name on the underground circuit for many years, whilst producing album tracks for many of the current crop of British talent; namely blog-favourite Ellie Goulding.

‘Far From Over’ is the first new release from Frankmusik (aka Vincent Frank) since album ‘Do It In The AM’ was released in 2011, and will be available for free download this Thursday (14th February) from his official site. According to Frank’s official Twitter account, he’ll be attempting to push boundaries of electropop:

Lets make it quite clear, this EP is only trying to push whats possible in pop/electronica music. This wont be for everyone…
— Vincent Frank (@THEFRANKMUSIK) February 11, 2013

Whilst you eagerly await Thursday’s release however, check out the fantastic instrumental just posted on his Soundcloud page (below), as well as a powerful recent performance from his stint at Sessions 58. If the Soundcloud instrumental is anything to go by, the new material is worth waiting for!

‘Mirrors’, off Timberlake’s forthcoming eagerly-awaited LP ‘The 20/20 Experience’ is an 8-minute epic cinematic masterpiece. Enough superlatives?

Think of it as that sequel (instrumentally) to ‘What Goes Around (Comes Around)’ – it’s VERY ‘Futuresex’.

[LIVE] Elton John joins Ed Sheeran on ‘The A Team’ at The Grammy Awards

Here’s a unique twist. Usually, when a newcomer joins a legend on stage, they help support the former on one of their bigger hits.

Not this time. Realising the talent of Ed Sheeran, Elton John duetted on Sheeran’s performance of Number 1 hit ‘The A Team’ at last night’s 55th Grammy Awards.

The performance, an acoustic session was opened and closed with rapturous applause from the audience. Ed Sheeran has been smashing it both sides of the Atlantic the last 18 months or so, and this performance has set him up at the top of the A-league.

[LIVE] Justin Timberlake wows in retro Grammy performance

“This is a Grammy moment that millions of us have been waiting for. This performance marks the return of a man that was born to make music.”

Yep, that’s how Beyonce and Ellen Degeneres introduced established singer/songwriter Justin Timberlake last night as he wowed audiences taking the stage at the annual Grammy Awards.

The performance, Timberlake’s first Grammy performance since blog-favourite ‘What Goes Around’ 4 years ago, was set in a way Bruno Mars could only wish for. The performance of new single ‘Suit and Tie’ was filmed in sepia (yes, Instagramming your TV!). It fitted perfectly with the direction Timberlake is taking on his new music.

Already a highly energetic [and choreographed] performance, halfway through the set, JT called upon collaborator Jay-Z to take the helm. Though debatable whether Mr Z’s inclusion of the track was worthwhile, his appearance on the performance added an extra level of ‘wowness’.

Once Jay-Z left the stage, JT then treated the audience to song ‘Pusher Love Girl’. The track, which appears with ‘Suit and Tie’ on forthcoming album ‘The 20/20 Experience’, is more of a Maxwell-y vibe and was used to showcase Timberlake”s falsetto tone that many have been used to in the past. A very ‘smooth’ track and an outstanding performance of the two track all in.

[NEWS] Frank Ocean ready for ‘Channel Orange’ follow-up

RnB singer/songwriter is ready to get back into the studio to work on the follow-up to ‘Channel Orange’, says the album’s producer.

Om’Mas Keith, who produced Ocean’s 2012 critically-acclaimed album has revealed to Billboard that the star has told him to be “ready to get back to work”.

The producer told the magazine “He’s [Ocean] better off now than he was a year ago creatively, harmonically, sonically and musically. We haven’t been immersed like that since we stopped working on the album, but I know that Frank is on a continual quest for knowledge. He doesn’t stop on the knowledge tip.”

Earlier this week, Ocean supported these claims by telling the New York Times that aside from planning to write a book, he’s looking forward to ‘writing in remote locations over the next two years’.

Ocean’s 2012 hit was the follow-up to his acclaimed 2011 mixtape ‘Nostalgia, Ultra’, which spurred two singles, ‘Swim Good’ and ‘Novocane’. Kanye West’s positive reception of ‘Nostalgia, Ultra’, led to Frank Ocean appearing on West & Jay-Z’s joint collaboration album ‘Watch The Throne’.
