[NEW MUSIC] J.Period’s incredible remix of Kanye’s ‘Hold On’

0

Fans of Kanye West’s debut effort ‘College Dropout’ prepare to smile. Hip-hop DJ J.Period has, with the nod by Mr West, started sharing the first of his new remixes.

The DJ has been working behind the scenes on a new mixtape ‘G.O.O.D. Music: Remixed & Unreleased’, taking tracks from Kanye’s ‘G.O.O.D. Music’ label and giving them the Period signature sound.
The first release from the mixtape is Hold On, bringing in Consequence (who had a famously publicised spate of words in January).
J.Period has done a superb job in the remix; check it out yourself below and let us know what you think:

[NEW MUSIC] Jaden Smith drops ‘MSFTS Anthem 2’

0

Yep, that’s right, we’re talking about Jaden Smith here. We know the kid’s only 14 years old, however Mr Will Smith Junior has thrown some great lyrics over a superb beat in this new effort.

Produced by US production duo The Movement, ‘MSFTS Anthem 2’ is a follow-up the original ‘MSFTS’ from the singer’s ‘The Cool Cafe’ debut mixtape.

[VIDEO x NEW MUSIC] Tawiah returns with ‘TEARdrop’

0

This is SUCH an exciting moment for me. After being a fan of London-girl Tawiah since watching her support Estelle at 2008’s iTunes Festival, I’m sure you can agree that a new album is long-time-coming.

Her debut EP is, to this day, one of my favourites…. 2008’s ‘In Jodi’s Bedroom’ built on Tawiah’s base of combining raw funk with soulful RnB, and her live performances are just too brilliant for words.

Roll on to 2013 and Tawiah has just dropped new single ‘TEARdrop’ off her forthcoming album. It’s fantastic and a strong return to form.

If you ever get the chance to see her live, I can’t stress enough how much you should go. The singer is synonymous with amazing 10-minute renditions of stand-out track ‘Every Step; likewise with Jodi Milliner on bass (and production) and the powerhouses of LaSharVu on BVs, she really is a force to be reckoned with.

Check out the great video to ‘TEARdrop’ below:

[NEWS] Strong rumours point to Prince headlining Glastonbury

0

Legendary artist Prince has signed up as a headliner for June’s Glastonbury festival, if rumours are to be believed.

According to The Daily Star (reliability up for discussion!), the star, whose new album is expected later this year, will headline the festival after his appearance at the 2011 festival fell by the wayside under final negotiations.

If confirmed, Prince will join the likes of AlunaGeorge and Nas as previously confirmed artists at Worthy Farm this June.

Artist recreates Massive Attack’s ‘Teardrops’ using fruit and vegetables

0

Yep, you read that headline right! As we all know, the net is covered from head to toe with cover versions of famous songs, whether instrumentals or vocals; however Portuguese artist J.Viewz has taken his efforts one step further.

The musician has shown that there really are no limits to creativity by remaking Massive Attack’s infamous ‘Teardrops’ using various fruits, vegetables and a Novation midi keyboard.

The beauty and science behind this is sheer wonderment and I urge you all to check this out. Give it time, it’ll be a while before you see anything this remarkable again.
