Now we’re firmly in to 2013, it’s about time we got to hear some new, fresh Emeli Sande. Sande has teamed up with Underworld’s Rick Smith for new single ‘Here It Comes’, taken from the soundtrack to new Danny Boyle flick ‘Trance’.

Whether you’re a fan of Sande or not, it’ll be hard to disregard a song like this; it’s a great track on a mellow/dance beat (of course with an Underworld production it’s bound to be good).

[NEWS] The Big Reunion places Ant and Dec back in the UK charts after almost 20 years

Nothing can prove the power of 1 minute of TV leading to sales more than what’s been happening over the past 24 hours.

After an appearance on their own TV show ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’, TV stars Ant & Dec performed a surprise homage to their past pop life as part of their Big Reunion skit. After surprising audiences both at home and in-studio (with Twitter commentary going through the roof at the time!), it seems that their appearance has had a massive affect on the sales of debut single ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble’.

The song, originally recorded under the duo’s moniker ‘PJ and Duncan’ way back in 1994, has climbed to No 5 in the iTunes chart as of 5pm today (24th March 2013) – something that not even ex-label DMG would’ve have conceived.

Check the moment that they surprised audiences below. For those who love a reminder of their youth, this is it!

Daft Punk follow album information with new 15-second snippet

0

After yesterday’s news breaking the title and artwork of Daft Punk’s new album, the dance masterminds have released another 15-second trailer previewing the direction of the forthcoming LP.

The teaser serves as a sequel to the initial premiere on Saturday Night Live that we posted at the turn of the month, and continues the theme we’ve known to love about the funky dancemasters.

Easily the most eagerly-awaited dance album of the year, the new album, titled ‘Random Access Memories’, is the duo’s first major release since signing with new label Columbia. US producer/musician Nile Rodgers has recently been dropping hints about his involvement in the new album, and follows other producers linked to the project, including Chilly Gonzales, Giorgio Moroder and Paul Williams.

Check out the funky disco/house snippet below; if this is a sign of things to come then fans should get very excited indeed!

[WATCH] Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher make history through star-studded performance

In a move that would’ve seemed completely preposterous almost two decades ago, Blur frontman Damon Albarn joined forces with Noel Gallagher last night for a star-studded performance of the former’s ’99 track ‘Tender’.

Placing their musical differences aside, the duo were also joined by Paul Weller and Graham Coxon onstage at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the penultimate Teenage Cancer Trust concert.

With both Gallagher and Albarn taking turns in providing the lead vocals, there was not one fault with this performance. This is truly a heart-warming experience, seeing these two on stage together, and it seemed many users have taken to social media to voice their upmost approval. Youtuber ‘KittyHarmful’ said “this is history, right here, right now!!”, whilst Twitter user @jakethh added “Damon preformed Tender with Noel, Coxon and Weller holy fucking shitballs”.

To say I’m jealous of those in attendance is an understatement – that would truly go down as an historic performance. Check it out below:

Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul have remixed AwolNation’s ‘Sail’ and it’s now available for free download (for a limited time, presumably)

After the phenomenal remix of “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” dropped on Monday, Lamar and running-mate Ab-Soul have blessed us with the remix of 2011’s ‘Sail.

Lamar really is a true rapper of our times and can currently do no wrong. Whilst we’re waiting for the official version to drop, check out the audio and free download below. It’s phenomenal, as expected.

Justin Timberlake confirmed for world tour

0

Not content with being the most talked-about music artist in 2013 so far, or that he has a current Number 1 single…. OR that his third album ‘The 20/20 Experience’ is expected to go platinum after just one-week’s worth of sales, it has been confirmed that Justin Timberlake will announce his next world tour in the next 6 weeks.

The tour will be a solo effort, and is expected to launch after his North American joint stint with Jay-Z this summer, and the expected announcement has been confirmed by long-time manager Johnny Write.

When asked about Timberlake’s solo tour plans, manager Write said “Yeah. Probably he’ll go out sometime in the fall. We haven’t routed that yet or figured out what cities we’re going to play….. I know we’ll start in North America first. But again, our focus is getting the album out and getting the Jay/Justin piece done. And I would say sometime in April/May we’ll announce when Justin is going to put his own solo tour out.”

The tour will be the follow-up to JT’s hugely successful ‘FutureSex/LoveShow’, which expanded on the release of sophmore album ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’.

It truly is the year of Justin Timberlake – with two performances now confirmed at this summer’s Wireless Festival, and a follow-up to his just-released ‘The 20/20 Experience’ expected instore in November, there will be no getting away from this superstar; in good reason too. The performer wowed audiences (and us at Stagedoor.FM too) at his BRIT Awards after-show party at The Forum last month.

More news as and when we get it. In the meantime, you can whet your appetite for the tour by downloading new album ‘The 20/20 Experience’ here.
