Catch up on iHeartRadio’s Las Vegas Music Festival – Day 2

After yesterday’s strong opening to the iHeartRadio Festival, which featured performances from Katy Perry to Adam Lambert with Queen, Day 2 is expected to be equally as exciting, with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Drake on the headline bill.

Justin Timberlake
Giving the world’s first live performance of new single TKO, JT put on one hell of a showing as the day’s headliner. The track is taken from the singer’s forthcoming new album The 20/20 Experience volume 2, out 30th September. The multi-award-winning artist also performed his hit single SexyBack, taken from 2006 album FutureSex/LoveSounds.

Miley Cyrus
After what’s been a fairly intense few weeks since her controversial VMA performance, Miley Cyrus unveiled a fairly emotional attempt of new track Wrecking Ball.

Drake
Taken from his forthcoming new album Nothing Was The Same, Canadian rapper Drake performed new single Started From The Bottom. Check out that epic Jaden Smith tshirt in his performance, below!

Rudimental cover The Fugees’ ‘Ready Or Not’ on Australian radio show Triple J

British production team Rudimental took to Australia’s Triple J radio station recently, to unveil their cover of The Fugees classic Ready or Not.

The track, whose video was said to be the most expensive musical visual piece when it was released in 1996, was slightly reworked for Rudimental’s performance, mixing in their own track Hell Could Freeze into the proceedings.

Jennifer Hudson has teamed up with rapper T.I. for collaboration single I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel).

The soulful dance number, produced by none other than Pharrell Williams, is set to be taken from Hudson’s forthcoming as-yet-untitled third album, featuring production credits from Timbaland, Salaam Remi and Lady Gaga-hitmaker, RedOne.

This lovely smooth soulful number takes cues from James Blake and The Weeknd – sounding special already? You bet! Check it out above; Australia really are winning the race with new artists at the moment who have the potential to go global. Flume’s done it, we don’t see why these Sydney-based lads can’t do the same either.

Critically-acclaimed British vocalist Sam Smith took to BBC’s Radio 1 Live Lounge today, performing Bruno Mars hit When I Was Your Man as his Live Lounge Cover of choice.

Check the video; this guy can do no wrong – a seriously impressive performance from the guy whose summer collaborations with Disclosure (Latch) and Naughty Boy (La La La) became anthems in their own right.

Mumford & Sons announce break from music

British rock/folk group Mumford & Sons have confirmed they are to take a break from music.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the band announced they intend to take a long break now their current Babel tour has finished.

Earlier in the week, Mumford & Sons keyboardist Ben Lovett told the publication “There won’t be any Mumford & Sons activities for the foreseeable future following Friday’s show.”. When questioned on how long they are intending to take a break for, Lovett replied “we have no idea. We just know we’re going to take a considerable amount of time off and just go back to hanging out and having no commitments or pressure or anything like that. It feels like the last week of school right now, before school holiday when you’re in high school. The atmosphere on the road is one of . . . I think everyone’s excited about being free of schedules.”

The band recently wowed crowds (aside from their Babel tour), during their headline spot at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, closing the large-scale event on the final day.

Catch up on iHeartRadio’s Las Vegas Music Festival – Day 1

A host of stars are set to grace the MGM Grand Resort in Las Vegas over the weekend, for the second iHeartRadio annual festival. Performers are said to include Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Paul McCartney, Katy Perry, Robin Thicke, J.Cole, Tiesto, and many many more. Here we’ll document and grab as many of the performances we can so they’re all in one handy place to catch up on!

Queen ft Adam Lambert
The remaining members of iconic British rock band Queen held the stage for over 30 minutes, performing some of their best-known tracks, with US singer Adam Lambert helping out on vocal duties. Check out their full set below:

Miley Cyrus

Katy Perry
Katy Perry took to the stage to perform her global smash-hit Roar, followed by the first live performance of new album-track Dark Horse. Both songs are set to appear on Perry’s forthcoming LP Prism.

Robin Thicke
Robin Thicke’s graced the festival for his first live performance since ‘that’ show at the MTV VMAs a few weeks back. Suffering a slight wardrobe malfunction (which didn’t seem intentional), the R&B crooner performed summer hit Blurred Lines to an excitable crowd.

Elton John
After a summer where the legendary rock & roll singer had to cancel a string of gigs due to illness, Elton John was back to his fine form, performing classic track Bennie and the Jets.

BBC unveils Zane Lowe / Kanye West interview trailer

Following on from his 5-part Jay Z interview in July, Zane Lowe has unveiled a new trailer for his forthcoming Kanye West interview.

Starting this Monday, 23rd September, the 4-part interview sees the rapper opening up to the BBC Radio 1 DJ over a multitude of things, which, at this stage, remains under wraps. It’s highly likely however that Lowe will be covering topics ranging from recent LP Yeezus, along with his baby-mother Kim Kardashian.

We’ll release the full interview once it’s aired.
