Britney Spears and Nick Grimshaw spoof Halloween ‘Thriller’

Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw has premiered a new spoof Halloween video, featuring pop princess Britney Spears.

The video, filmed during Spears’ visit to the UK a fortnight ago, offers an amusing piece of tongue-in-cheek satire by Spears, appearing to mock both herself and everything ‘tacky’ about the Halloween season.

In the video, Britney is seen reciting the monologue to Michael Jackson’s classic hit Thriller, with some added hilarities by Grimshaw thrown in.

Britney is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming eight studio album Britney Jean, set to land early December, and is currently readying the UK release of new single Work Bitch, out next week.

Canadian pop diva Celine Dion has premiered her new album Loved Me Back to Life prior to its official release next week. The album, Dion’s first English-speaking release since 2007’s Taking Chances, features production and songwriting credits by the likes of; Ne-Yo, Stevie Wonder, Daniel Merriweather and Babyface.

The album will be preceded by new single, title track Loved Me Back to Life.

Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, released from jail after two years

Conrad Murray, the US doctor convicted of assisting the death of King of Pop Michael Jackson, has been released from jail, according to reports this morning.

Murray was released earlier this morning, after serving half of his initial four-year sentence for supplying drug propofol to Jackson to assist his sleeping. Though widely used, Propofol is a harsh anaesthetic, with its effects generally having led to doctors requesting the drug itself to be banned due to limited benefits versus other drugs currently used.

Michael Jackson died in June 2009, following preparations for his 50-date sold-out UK This Is It tour. Tour promotor AEG were held accountable for the overall circumstances by Jackson’s family, however a lengthy court case ending earlier this month confirmed that the Jackson family had lost the case of negligence against the corporation.

Velvet Underground and rock legend Lou Reed dies, aged 71

One of the most influential musicians of recent times, Lou Reed, has died today, aged 71. The cause of Reed’s death has not yet been confirmed however it is understood that the star recently underwent a liver transplant earlier this summer.

Mutya Keisha Siobhan perform ‘Flatline’ acoustic on ‘Sunday Brunch’

Mutya Keisha Siobhan were amongst the guests of Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch this morning, joining Team GB Olympic swimmer Keri-Anne Payne, comedian Al Murray, and Queen-legend Roger Taylor in the lineup.

Taking part in various interviews throughout the show (as both a band and also helping out during the show’s ‘challenges’), the original Sugababes joined together again to close the show with an acoustic performance of current single Flatline.

Taken from their forthcoming as-yet-untitled new album, Flatline is the first piece of official new material from the girls since they reunited again back in 2012.

After a various amount of official snippets from the singer herself, Lady Gaga’s anticipated new single Venus has been officially unveiled online.

The single, taken from Gaga’s forthcoming album ARTPOP, was originally planned to be the second release from the new album, however pushed back after the success of R Kelly-duet Do What U Want earlier this week.
