Elton John has been announced as the first headliner for Glastonbury Festival 2023, ending months of speculation.
The iconic artist – who will embark on his first ever showing at Worthy Farm on Sunday 25th June – recently whipped the rumour mill into a spin by saying he had “one final date to announce”. At the time, many fans pointed to the Pyramid Stage as being that final show, and falls part of the closure run of dates for Elton’s global ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour.
Meanwhile, the BBC also teased a rocket overlooking Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage on their constant live-streamed Glastonbury Webcam. The announcement of Elton’s debut was confirmed via Glastonbury Festival’s official Twitter feed.
Sir Elton John is the first major artist confirmed for Glastonbury 2023, which runs 21-25th June.
