Brasstracks have proved the might of the web (and the relevance of Soundcloud) with their new song ‘Snowdaze’.
Featuring newcomer Charles Gaines, the song arrives with a wonderful backstory, which saw the self-proclaimed future-brass duo seeking out Gaines after sifting through historical likes on the streaming platform – we’re not going to do this story justice so have a read of it via Brasstracks’ tweets below. The beautiful ‘Snowdaze’ can be found underneath:
2/ Turns out Jackson n Charles were going to Berklee together. He gave me Charles number. I called n asked (begged) for stems to the demo to fully produce it out, he was down. I think back then the vox were recorded into an iPhone headphone mic, actually sounded kinda cool 😂

2 weeks ago it was still in demo form. It’s cold again in NYC so I was listening to the song on repeat. Something clicked and I called Charles. “It would be a crime if we don’t put this out before Xmas this year”. mind you, we had no horns drums or vocals recorded 😂

We recorded drums and horns next day. Three days later it was mixed, mastered and ready to go. Just in time to upload to Spotify and Apple and all that good stuff. We still haven’t met @charlesgaines_, but we are very very thankful for the internet
