Usually it’s around this time of year, almost one month until the annual ticket stampede, that rumours of forthcoming Glastonbury appearances start to swirl the web. However, with the festival now taking a break until 2019, we presumed that we could also have a well-deserved rest on speculative headliners.

No such luck it seems! Glastonbury sleuth expert Glasto Watch may have uncovered a titbit of info which could, potentially, lead the way to a forthcoming headliner.

Scouring a recent Instagram feed, it’s transpired that Glastonbury curator Emily Eavis has recently followed Madonna on her personal account. Though hitting over 30,000 followers herself, Eavis only follows a handful of accounts, a large majority a combination of previous headliners and major performers, alongside vocal ‘friends of Glastonbury’.

Madonna, much like Elton John and Fleetwood Mac, is just one of what’s becoming a small pool of major acts who are yet to grace the coveted Pyramid Stage. With such an illustrious career (and a huge back catalogue which could excite many), this could be a solid appointment for Glastonbury.

**UPDATE: In a rare TV appearance (8th December), Madonna recently confirmed news she will be returning to the live circuit, telling Live With Kelly & Ryan “I gotta get my show together. 2017 was soccer mom in Portugal. 2018…I’m coming back, baby. I’m coming for you!”**
