After appearing on last year’s Hiding, newcomer Lauren L’aimant has forged closer ties with Icarus, releasing her solo debut Family on the Bristol lads’ Fly Boy Records imprint.

Set to act as a prelude to her upcoming debut EP, L’aimant tells the story of the groovy Family, saying “I wrote the song about being there for someone when they’re in need, even if they don’t ask for your help. I want it to be a reminder that love and togetherness is what life is all about – especially during troubling times in our lives.”

Though unaffiliated, the joint solidly sounds like the ‘next chapter’ of Tensnake’s Nile Rogers-featuring Love Sublime; if you were feeling that one (and let’s face it, who didn’t?), then you’ll feel completely at ease with Lauren’s cut. Listen below:
