Mashups have often allowed self-confessed ‘bedroom producers’ to stay within the side of the law whilst pushing ever-further their education of music-creation. Occasionally, however, one can slip through the net that’s so finely crafted it captures the attentions of the masses – Secret Passionfruit is a prime example.
A fusion between The Weeknd’s Secrets and Drake’s Passionfruit, the new edit was created by Soundcloud user Young Kippur and originally posted for fun over on Kanye To The. It received such a buzz though that earlier today Oliver El-Khatib gave the rework its first ever radio airplay on the latest episode of Beats 1’s OVO Sound Radio show.
