We knew Ed Sheeran’s DIVIDE was going to sell big, but the numbers are now in, and it’s safe to say, they’re pretty colossal.

Not only has the project, Ed’s third studio record, landed at No.1 in the UK’s Official Album Charts, but it’s also become the fastest selling male album of all time! Shifting 672k units this week alone, the figures don’t even stop there. Here’s just a quick recap (and make sure you’re sitting down for this!):

  • Highest number of album streams in a week ever, eclipsing Stormzy’s previous record with Gangs Signs and Prayer.
  • Divide is now the third fastest-selling album ever, with only Adele’s 25 and Oasis’ Be Here Now selling more in the first seven days.
  • Divide has outperformed the rest of the Official Album Chart’s Top 500, combined!
Most one-week vinyl album sales in 20 years.
  • First album to have EVERY track appear in the Official Singles Chart’s Top 20 – all 16 tracks are there!
  • Even excluding streams, Ed would still hold three of the Top 4 songs on the Official Singles Chart on downloads alone.
  • Ed becomes the first artist to get the ‘Chart Double’ since Drake last year.

Massive! Oh yeah, and if you’re still yet to hear the full project, you can stream Divide in full below:
