Beyonce was the talk of the town at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards. Not only did the star pick up 8 of a potential 11 gongs throughout the evening (alongside the coveted Video Of The Year Award for Formation), Bey also performed one heck of an epic medley from her LEMONADE LP, at times almost recreating some of the visual’s most-iconic scenes.
Other winners on the night included a posthumous award for David Bowie (Best Art Direction on Blackstar), DNCE (Best New Artist) and Drake (Best Hip Hop Video for Hotline Bling). Meanwhile Rihanna delivered a trio of mini performances throughout the show as the latest recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vangaurd Award. Adele, who started the evening with 8 nominations (7 for Hello) failed to collect any major award (though I’m sure with a record-breaking album and world tour, she’s probably not THAT annoyed).
