The third (and final) day of NYC’s Governors Ball has been cancelled due to the continual threat of severe weather and lightning.

Set to be headlined by Kanye West, tonight’s event was to mark Yeezy’s first US performance since the release of February’s The Life Of Pablo, whilst also giving fans a glimpse at the setup for the rumoured upcoming TLOP tour. Galantis, CHVRCHES, Gary Clark Jr and Two Door Cinema Club were also amongst today’s performers.

Announced on the event’s Twitter feed earlier today, Governors Ball organisers have also confirmed that ticketholders will receive a full refund (including fees) – check the official statement below:

Sunday, June 5th of Gov Ball 2016 has officially been cancelled, due to severe weather and a high likelihood of lightning in the area. The safety of fans, artists and crew always comes first.

All customers who purchased a Sunday ticket and Sunday transportation ticket through the Gov Ball ticketing page will receive a refund (including fees and shipping, if applicable) directly to the account used to purchase. All customers who purchased a 3-Day Pass and 3-Day Transportation pass directly through the Gov Ball Ticketing page will receive a partial/pro-rated refund (including fees and shipping, if applicable) directly to the account used to purchase.

At this time we expect all refunds to be processed within 21 days. All partial refunds will be based on the ticket price at which the ticket was purchased.

If the original card used for purchase has expired or been updated, the refund should still be processed through the account used to purchase. No additional action is needed by the original purchaser. If your credit card used for purchase has been canceled or is now expired, the bank or credit card company will normally reroute the credit amount issued to the current account or card for use. Please do not send any credit card or account information via email to info@govball.com

Only primary ticket purchasers will receive a refund. We apologize for any inconvenience, but if you did not purchase your ticket directly through the official Gov Ball website, we can not handle refund requests. Please contact the person / party you purchased your ticket through if you did not purchase your ticket directly through the official Gov Ball Ticketing site.

This process takes time and all parties involved are working incredibly hard to expedite the process to ensure everyone that is entitled to a refund receives it as quickly as possible.

Stay tuned for more information, and please bear with us. We are just as devastated as you.

However, whilst fans will be undoubtedly disappointed, that hasn’t stopped many of the acts announcing a series of pop-up gigs in and around NYC. Vic Mensa was first to confirm a show at New York’s Webster Hall, giving away 150 free tickets, whilst Two Door Cinema Club have rescheduled their show at Williamsburg’s Music Hall, asking for a charity donation in return for entry:
