First breaking onto the scene back in 2013 thanks to a guest role on Chase and Status’ Lost and Not Found, it was this year that Louis Mattrs came into his own, thanks to a spectacular effort on his Slow Waves EP.

Though released as a full body of work in November, it was the project’s lead joint Superman that garnered huge airplay back in late-summer; touted by the likes of Annie Mac and Phil Taggart, Superman wholly delivered Louis’ soulful [and introspective] outtake on life’s various ails, and helped showcase the Brighton-born musician as a poetic wordsmith as much as a breath-of-fresh-air to the strengthening future-focused UK industry.

Add to that an appearance on SG Lewis’ No Less (which preceded Superman) we’re hopeful for at least some new material from Louis as we venture into 2016, if not a full album.
