It’s not often that an emerging talent can grab hold of one of the world’s biggest rappers without even having a full-length album under their name, however his sheer talent is what led to Joey Bada$$ teaming up with Ady Suleiman for the title-track of the latter’s What’s The Score EP.

On our radar for a fair while now, Suleiman’s various releases seems to hear him ticking all the right boxes – delivering quality without being ostentatious, and totally understanding the need to be fully-involved with the underpinnings of every song.

Ady’s debut collection (the imaginatively titled This Is My EP) helped him attract a solid fanbase across the specialist sphere (with the likes of the aforementioned Joey, plus George The Poet, amongst others, giving their nods of approval). Meanwhile, the 22 year-old’s catchy tones also saw him appear on Chance The Rapper’s recent Surf project, whilst his ability to be a true wordsmith was delivered greatly with his early-2015 coming-of-age joint Don’t Need You.

With such a mature stance to his music, it’s encouraging to hear your artists pushing for relevant music versus just ‘chasing the dollar’ (as seems to be the way with many mass-market US contemporaries). If he plays his cards right, Ady Suleiman could well be on his way to matching the likes of Maverick Sabre in terms of relevancy and fan-appreciation.
