Though only two singles deep, the nods directed to Mabel as an upcoming rising star shows no sign of depleting. Having recently won an appearance on BBC’s Sound of 2016 poll, it’s welcoming that the singer’s most-recent release My Boy My Town has earned a hefty remix courtesy of a nominee in last year’s longlist, Shura.
The new remix, unveiled earlier today, does away with the melancholy focus of the original – instead Shura brings things into post-club/home-time mode. Delivering My Boy My Town across a ‘plug your headphones on in an Uber’ beat, this is definitely one you’d be wanting to immerse yourself in. It’s alt-electronica at its finest.
