Zayn Malik has grown up! We’ve realised this previously when his unofficial remix of Rae Sremmurd’s No Type dropped online earlier this year, however today he affirms this, sharing a short glimpse of all-new track Befour.

Detailing all to The Fader (of which Zayn appears as their latest cover star), Malik further explains how he intends to distance himself from his One Direction past. “I don’t feel like people really know what I’m going to give them, musically” Malik explains in his all-new interview, which also details the new *cough* ‘direction’ the young artist is looking to head on his untitled solo project.

From what we can hear of Befour at this stage, Zayn’s work is entirely-promising. We’ve had high hopes since we first laid ears on the aforementioned No Type refix, however now understanding his new collection bears the hallmark of producer James Ho (responsible for Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange), it’s safe to say that Malik will be entering a shining new life, and one that seems will be supported by the more specialist avenues of the music-sphere (many of whom may previously have shied away from anything One Direction-related).
