Usher surprised fans earlier today, releasing all-new track Chains as a TIDAL exclusive.

Featuring Nas and Bibi Bourelly, the hard-hitting Chains was written as a response to the “prejudicial injustice” that’s been sweeping the US over the past couple of years (and unfortunately seems no signs of simmering).

Alongside the track however, a notable point also looks at how the track was delivered, with Chains harnessing a new kind of experience which invites listeners to watch the faces of multiple victims – show the window be minimised or moved away, the audio will also cease. It’s an incredibly-interesting, plus powerful motive, supported by the basis that “while racial injustice keeps killing, society keeps looking away.”

“I chose to introduce the song through the ‘Don’t Look Away’ experience because it is important not only to feel the issue but to face it” said Usher, upon the track’s unveiling, continuing, “the pain and suffering that these victims and their families have endured is something we must never forget. When we look away from this problem it gets worse. To fix it, we have to face it.”
