Following yesterday’s teaser, Sam Smith has announced confirmation he will take the helm, singing the theme song from upcoming James Bond movie, Spectre.

Titled Writing’s On The Wall, the song will debut and be available to purchase and stream on 25th September, and features co-writing credits with Sam’s long-term collaborator Jimmy Napes (alongside production by Disclosure). Writing’s On The Wall is also the first James Bond theme song recorded by a British male solo artist since 1965.

Sam Smith announced the news live on-air during Nick Grimshaw’s Radio 1 show earlier today, confirming the track had been recorded as far back as January, and took just twenty minutes to write.
