Almost a fortnight back, Låpsley shared Burn, a track announced as the B-side to an all-new single. Today, the young artist (whom we touted as one of our 15 For 15: Ones To Watch late last year) has debuted that new single, by way of Hurt Me

…. and it’s absolutely exquisite!

Premiered by Annie Mac earlier this evening (and awarded today’s ‘Hottest Record’ moniker), Hurt Me hears a slight departure from Låpsley’s previous stripped-back electronic tones; instead, this cut brings the youngster more into mid-tempo mode – there’s some dazzling ‘twinkly’ synths in there, alongside an almost-epic backing track supporting the cut as it transcends into a huge climax. What’s more, Låpsley’s vocals on this one are nothing short of glorious.

Annie brought Låpsley into our lives a while back, and her quality judgement of ‘what’s great’ in music continues to be served. With a debut album landing [hopefully] this side of summer 2016, there’s likely to be a lot more to look forward to from Camp Låpsley.
