Lauryn Hill has announced the cancellation of her upcoming London show due to her previous run-in with the law.

Announcing the news moments ago on her official Facebook page, Hill confirmed that next week’s acoustic show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire has been postponed because of her “past legal situation”. The singer wrote:

“I’ve been informed that I won’t be able to enter the UK for a period of time due to my past legal situation. For this reason I have to cancel my concert on July 15th. Know that I was looking forward to performing in London this summer, and that I appreciate all of my fans and supporters both in London, and throughout the UK. I look forward to seeing you again as soon as I’m able to.”

Hill’s previous UK visit last September was shrouded in controversy due to her undertaking more ‘jazz-influenced’ renditions of her iconic debut album The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill (though admittedly we had a pretty good time!).
