Wayward’s Ugetsu EP was an absolutely eargasmic affair when it dropped last October; delivered when winter was about to rear its ugly heard, Ugetsu reminded us that Balearic sounds were all that was needed to silk away the blues and dream of summer. To this day, the collection still appears on rotation in our office – a rarity for an 8-month old EP, particularly as we’re continually bombarded by good music from various spheres.

Today, the British duo announced their follow-up project, the Embroider EP. Led by the marvellous I Can’t Dance, Wayward’s new material seems to be a natural progression – continuing on the sunshine anthems, but instead injecting some almost early-UKG TuffJam inspiration into the mix. Add to that a wealth of appearances over the coming months (Hideout, Festival and Eastern Electrics, plus a headline show at London’s Ace Hotel next week), and Wayward fans have a hell of a lot to look forward to.
