Following huge anticipation, the nominees for next month’s 2015 BRIT Awards have been announced, with Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran continuing their MOBO nods late last year.
Announced earlier this evening at the ‘BRITS Are Coming’ event (set to be broadcast on ITV1 later tonight), George Ezra received three nominations, (including the coveted ‘MasterCard British Album’ for his No.1 debut collection Wanted On Voyage). Meanwhile, hats were also tipped for Beyoncé, Sia and Pharrell in their various International categories, whilst Clean Bandit and Duke Dumont both cleaned up with two nominations apiece, alongside Lily Allen, nominated for Best Female Solo Artist. There were surprise omissions, however, with Jungle’s summer 2014 hit Busy Earnin nowhere to be seen (alongside their Mercury Music Award-nominated self-titled debut album), whilst Gorgon City seemed have been surprisingly shunned too.
