It’s been a long-time-coming, but finally Tinashe’s massively-anticipated debut album Aquarius is here.
Available to stream (below), a huge amount has been riding on Aquarius, and on first listen, it doesn’t disappoint. With the hugely-successful 2 On creating a credible dent many artists could only dream of on a debut, the rest of Aquarius continues Tinashe’s strive for some strong-quality R&B.
It may not be up to the levels of Aaliyah, but then no artist has even come close since she passed; Aquarius may well be the nearest any female soloist could be expected to appear – with some strong support around her (Schoolboy Q, Dev Hynes/Blood Orange, A$AP Rocky), Aquarius is as sultry and as fiery as we’d have hoped.
