New Zealand wonderkid Lorde has confirmed a brand new track, titled Yellow Flicker Beat, her first piece of all-new material since last year’s breakthrough album Pure Heroine.

Set for its full unveiling next Monday (29th September), Yellow Flicker Beat is set to appear on the soundtrack for upcoming movie sequel, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 1, of which last year’s flick The Hunger Games: Catching Fire saw Lorde cover Tears For Fears’ Everybody Wants To Rule The World.

Yellow Flicker Beat is likely to be the first of many pieces of all-new Lorde music that we hear over the next few months; back in July the teenager was confirmed as the curator of the new soundtrack, so we’re sure to expect something as cinematic and unique as both Lorde and [movie director] Francis Lawrence have previously envisaged.

Obviously stay locked to Stagedoor FM and follow us on Twitter – we’ll be breaking the track once it gets announced next week.
