Following its premiere on Arsenio Hall’s US TV chat show back in March, Prince has unveiled the studio version of FUNKNROLL, the latest track to be lifted off his eagerly-anticipated new studio album ART OFFICIAL AGE.
The track, which comes into its own just over the 21-second mark, massively lives up to its name, with an impressive futuristic ‘water-tap’ beat and some slight manipulation on Prince’s strong vocals. Undoubtedly, FUNKNROLL is ‘pure Prince’, and bodes well for the promotion of ART OFFICIAL AGE which drops in just under a fortnight, alongside 3RDEYEGIRL’s debut PLECTRUMELECTRUM.
