Nile Rodgers and his iconic band Chic, alongside Robin Thicke, Ellie Goulding, Placebo and Snoop Dogg are amongst the acts set to take part in the two-month launch of the new Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza .
The hotel, which opens its doors officially this week (13th June), will host a series of weekly concerts throughout the summer, featuring some of the world’s biggest acts, performing to an ‘intimate’ crowd of 2,500 guests. Rodgers and Chic are to kick off the proceedings on launch night, joined by 90s house duo Masters at Work, whilst a fortnight later, iconic British Reggae band UB40 will take to the stage on June 27th, following the announcement of their reformation earlier in the year.
Meanwhile, Robin Thicke will ensure Independence Day kicks off the right way, taking to the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza stage on 4th July, a prelude to his new album which is set to drop later this summer (less than a year after his global smash record, Blurred Lines).
The following weeks will see the likes of Jason Derulo, Icona Pop, and Ellie Goulding entertain Ibiza-goers, leading up to the ‘big headliners’ Snoop Dogg (accompanied by DJ Sneak, Pete Tong and Brian Cross) on 15th August, whilst Kylie Minogue will bring her cherished pop to the Hotel one week later (22nd August). Finally, the 2-month party will close on 12th September with Placebo headlining their own slot.
We’re not heading to Ibiza this year (unfortunately), however a quick shout around the Stagedoor FM office has led to a bit of excitement amongst those lucky few heading over to the Balearics! Let’s hope the prices stack up too; if so, the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza could be one of the most exciting places to be in the party-island!
