Remember Ameriie? Yep, the US singer/songwriter who topped the charts back in the ‘mid-noughties’ with the brilliant 1 Thing…. well, she’s back, and with a vengeance, dropping brand new single What I Want.
Bringing R&B back to its strong roots, What I Want capitalises on Sugarhill Gang’s iconic Apache, and follows last month’s teaser.
Penned by the singer herself, and featuring production credits from Ameriie’s husband Mr. Nicholson, What I Want is sheer class; if this is what her new material is sounding like, we can’t wait for the new album to land (though no such release date for the LP as yet).
