According to multiple rumours surfacing online over the past few days, original Sugababes Mutya Keisha Siobhan (aka MKS) are set to relaunch their career, as, err, well, Sugababes.

Sources close to both the MKS and Sugababes camps are reporting that Mutya and her cohorts have won the rights to use the Sugababes brand name after the fourth and final reiteration of the group (Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah, Jade Ewen) rumoured to have called it quits last year.

Sources aligned to MKS say the trio have signed a new record deal along with new management, and are gearing up for a relaunch of the next chapter in their careers this summer under the guise of Sugababes, following their ‘comeback’ single Flatline stalling last year.

We must admit, we were first to rubbish the rumours when we first heard them last week, however things are starting to stack up. Particularly as the @Sugababes twitter account has now been activated (the original band’s account was / still is @SugababesHQ. The account only follows two names, both of these are believed to be aligned with MKS’ new management.

Either way, we just want new music. Hurry up girls, there’s a lot of fans waiting to hear what’s been cooking!

More on this interesting saga as and when we hear it.
