Peaches Geldof, daughter of Boomtown Rats frontman Bob Geldof, and the late Paula Yates, has died – she was 25.
Reports are yet to confirm the cause of the death of the youngster, who leaves behind her two children, sons Astala Dylan Willow and Phaedra Bloom Forever.
The death has been treated by police so far as an “unexplained sudden death”, with Geldof only yesterday posting a picture on Instagram with herself as a young child with her mother, Paula Yates.
Her father, philanthropist Bob Geldof has made the following statement: “Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.”
It’s widely known that both Bob and his daughters (Peaches, Tiger Lily and Pixie) formed a strong bond following the unexpected death of their mother Paula in 2000, following a reported heroin overdose.
Her husband Thomas Cohen also released a statement on the tragic passing, saying: “My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever. Thomas Astala and Phaedra Geldof-Cohen”
Celebrities have been quick to send their condolences, including Lily Allen, Chloe Howl and more:
