The Inbetweeners characters Neil and Will are to face the brunt of embarrassments in the TV show’s forthcoming movie sequel The Inbetweeners 2, the film’s star Joe Thomas has said.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Thomas, who plays character Simon in the hit Channel 4 sitcom, said “I think the script is funnier than the first film, I think the performances are funnier than the first film. It’s the same ingredients,”

When asked if the forthcoming movie could replicate the achievements of the original, Thomas said “The first film blew us away, we didn’t expect that level of success, but I think we can do it again.”

Hinting that lead characters Neil and Will were to face most of the embarrassments in the summer blockbuster, Thomas added “I’ve only got so many genitals, I need to keep some of them for a rainy day,”

The Inbetweeners 2, which will hit cinemas in early-August, has been heavily anticipated by fans, with the success of both the TV show and the feature-length spin-off movie both receiving commercial praise.
