Britney Spears took to US TV show Good Morning America earlier to confirm a two-year Las Vegas residency.

Tickets for the show, which is set to begin on 27th December at the Planet Hollywood resort, go on sale 20th September, priced from $59 up to $1,500 for VIP.

The singer also confirmed her new album, her eighth studio recording, will be released on 3rd December. The album is expected to include the US singer’s new single Work Bitch, revealed on Sunday.

UPDATE:

Further details have been revealed regarding Britney’s Nevada shows. Speaking to Billboard.biz, VP of entertainment of Caesars Entertainment Kurt Melien, said “This is a big Vegas-style production show, married with a dance club environment…. It’s 21 of her greatest hits, effectively, and some of the music from her eighth studio album. It’s a retrospective on some of the most iconic moments of her life, combined with the more contemporary stuff that she’s doing today.”

“The target is about 90 minutes. They’re still finalizing that. We don’t restrict it. But 90 to 100 minutes is probably likely”, says Melien, when questioned on the length of each show.

A further Q&A with Billboard failed to answer whether Spears would be performing live or lip-syncing during the production “We haven’t had that conversation. She certainly has been a singer and dancer her entire life, and she certainly has the chops today. There’s no doubt about it that she’s in the physical shape and vocal shape to sing the entire show. She’s working out a ton, training a ton and rehearsing a ton. She’s super pumped and really excited about this idea since it became real.”

However for anyone hoping to catch a glimpse of the tour anywhere else other than Vegas for a while, you’re likely to be disappointed. According to Melien, Spears is “[contractually] exclusive to Las Vegas and Planet Hollywood for two years in North America. If you live in the United States or Canada and you want to see Britney Spears in the next couple of years, Vegas is the place to do it”.
