Sugababe Jade Ewen (who replaced original singer-songwriter Keisha Buchanan) may have inadvertently confirmed the final demise for the much-troubled band.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last decade, the band has gone through multiple line-up changes over the years, essentially responsible for turning them from a credible pop act to an industry joke (poor Jade!).
Speaking to Digital Spy, Ewen admitted: “I don’t even know if the band stuff is going to happen again, if I’m completely honest.
“I think Amelle wants to do her own solo stuff, Heidi is doing a Happy Days musical… I think we’re pretty much done.
“I’m working on solo material at the moment actually. It’s only come about in the past three weeks, so it’s quite a new project.
“No-one’s really seen me yet. I sang for Eurovision, I’ve been in a band, but I don’t think anyone really knows what I’m about.”
The timing of these comments couldn’t have been more apt (or worse); the original three members Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy have all reformed, preparing for a sell-out comeback gig tonight at Scala in London’s Kings Cross.
