Chris Kelly, one half of early-90s ‘kid rap’ group Kris Kross, has died aged 34 in an Atlanta hospital.

Chris, who went under the moniker of ‘Mac Daddy’ with friend Chris Smith in the famous duo, was found to be unresponsive at home and taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The group were mostly known for their 1992 hit Jump which stormed the charts globally. The two were last seen earlier this year performing together at a concert marking 20 years of Jermaine Dupri’s SoSoDef record label.

An autopsy for Kelly is expected to be carried out this morning (US time).
