Daft Punk random access memories

French electronic duo Daft Punk are gearing up for easily the most eagerly awaited electronic album of 2013 with the release of a new video series ‘The Collaborators’. The series, a partnership between the production outfit, Intel and Vice, will look closer at the artists that have worked with the electro group on their new album ‘Random Access Memories’.

For the first episode, the mini-documentary series focuses on legendary producer Giorgio Moroder and discusses how his craft has been developed since the first time he was introduced to synthesisers. He also discusses the impact that disco and dance had on his production skills, and how acts like Donna Summer inspired electronic music as a whole.

Even though it’s only the first episode, this mini-series seems one of those definite ones-to-watch and wouldn’t seem out of place on the likes of Channel 4 or BBC4. Kudos to all the team who worked on it.
