Justin Timberlake has spoken to Capital FM to discuss his new album and what it feels like to be back in the studio.

The singer/songwriter, whose 3rd studio album ‘The 20/20 Experience’ is set to drop on 18th March, told the London radio station “I feel like I’m 19 again, like that unabashed excitement … It’s nice to be excited about something that you want to put out”. He went on to talk about how he wanted to focus on a more experimental album whilst still maintaining that ‘classic JT sound’.

Talking about new single ‘Mirrors’ (which is set to top the UK charts on Sunday), Timberlake said “From the moment I wrote it, it felt like a signature record for me, and with this album it’s experimental in a lot of different ways. To have this record on the album it feels familiar to me but moves in a different direction as well”.

The singer also continued to describe his relationship with producers Timbaland’s and Pharrell Williams. Whilst all of ‘The 20/20 Experience’ is produced by Timbaland, Timberlake did not rule out future work with Williams (who he famously collaborated with on debut album Justified). “I’ve recently worked with Pharrell on some stuff that he’s doing. We talked about getting back in at some point…”

Finally, Justin dropped some hints about his upcoming joint tour with Jay-Z. “Well we’re still working it out. I don’t want to give too much away, but it’s going to be a completely collaborative show. What that means, we don’t know yet because we haven’t put it together.”

The 20/20 Experience will be available on 18th March in the UK, whilst those lucky enough to have bought tickets will be seeing Timberlake headline Wireless Festival in the summer.
