British boyband One Direction have landed this week’s UK number one slot with the fastest selling single of the year so far. The X-Factor band’s Comic Relief cover of Blondie’s ‘One Way Or Another’ sold 113,000 copies in its first week, boosted considerably by their appearance at this week’s BRIT Awards.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ ‘Thrift Shop’ as well as internet sensation ‘Harlem Shake’ by Baauer remain at numbers 2 & 3 in the charts, whilst Justin Timberlake’s heavy PR this week helped new single ‘Mirrors’ climb from no. 28 to position 4. This is Timberlake’s second Top 20, with previous number one ‘Suit & Tie’ climbing to No 14.

Ben Howard’s championship at Wednesday’s BRITs helped him become this week’s fastest climber; ‘Only Love’ hit the Top 10 at no.9, vastly different to last week’s position 190 (just inside the Top 200).

In the album charts, Emeli Sande’s ‘Our Version Of Events’ went back in at no 1, again assisted by the win of coveted award Album Of The Year on Wednesday’s awards show.
