Rapper and ‘best selling artist of the 2000s’ Eminem is set to release his 8th studio LP this year, it has been claimed.

According to Paul Rosenberg, President of Eminem’s label ‘Shady Records’, creation of the album has been in the process for some time now, and is expected to hit shores this side of Summer 2013.

The new as-yet-untitled album will be Eminem’s 8th solo record, his first since 2010’s Recovery (if you exclude his ‘Bad Meets Evil’ project with Royce da 5’9′ in 2011).

According to reports, the focus for Shady Records is to release 50 Cent’s long-awaited [& long-delayed] album ‘Street King Immortal’, (of which new single ‘Financial Freedom’ can be heard here) first, and then follow up with Marshall Mathers III’s new cut.

The timing of Eminem’s new album coincides with the release of Mariah Carey’s new album (who he famously publicly disputed with) as well as his fixture on many UK festivals this summer, including:
– Slane Castle – 17th August
– Glasgow Summer Sessions – 20th August
– Reading & Leeds Festival – 23-25 August
